If Tcl/Tk's application to Google's Summer of Code will be accepted, as an author and submitter, I think that it should be reviewed and corrected. As I've written it several times I've done what I could to meet the deadline.

About The Program1. What is your plan for dealing with disappearing students?First choose candidates capable of completing given task and with strong motivation. It would be mentors obligation to be in touch with student, monitoring work progress and helping to conduct the project. If a student quits mentor should have a candidate or try to find backup student developer who can continue started work.2. What is your plan for dealing with disappearing mentors?Mentors and student will publish their details of their progress preferably on the created project blog. If there will be no progress signs other mentors will step in as backup mentors, or some help will be given directly from Tcl Core Team members or other community members through the tcl-core mailing list (listed above).3. What steps will you take to encourage students to interact with your project's community before, during and after the program?This is mentor responsibility to introduce a student to the community and the project (if it's not already done). tkosiak First we should probably correct our organization name. It would be probably better named Tcl/Tk Community or Tcl/Tk Project.DKF: I can volunteer to handle being a backup mentor of last resort. However, it is very unlikely that I will be able to meet with students (unless they're willing to travel to where I am located!) so my focus would have to be on getting them another mentor more suitable to their location. On a less formal note, I'd always be happy to discuss technical aspects of Tcl/Tk with students on the chat (whether they're using IRC or not; I'm not prejudiced that way.)
