EF The splash library [1] implements a new Tcl/Tk toplevel widget that aims at showing one (or more) splash screens during the initialisation phase of an application or any other lengthy operation.

The library opens a pseudo-widget and offers a number of configuration options to control the appearance and behaviour of the splash window. The splash library is similar to the library available from Adding a splash screen to a Starkit, but a complete re-write. The splash library is a more lightweight implementation that does not spawn a separate process for the opening of the splash window.

The splash library is currently at version 0.3 .
