encoding dirs ?directoryList?

Queries or sets the list of directories where Tcl finds the encodings it knows about.

Note that a select few encodings are baked directly into Tcl (utf-8, unicode, iso8859-1) because they are critical for operation of Tcl and ensuring that things function correctly even when the encodings are absent.
